This monthly newsletter is a wonderful, fun resource for all information related to our club!
President's Message
By the time this newsletter reaches you, the groundhog has bound to have seen (or not seen) his shadow. Fingers crossed he does not see his shadow this year!
We have a lot of wonderful upcoming events and initiatives in our club. We received a grant to build small food pantries (much like the Little Free Libraries that have popped up around the area) and will be putting these together in John Schultz's wood shop at our next meeting on Wed, Feb 9. You can join us at his house at 3pm to begin the building process with John and Cody. At 5:30pm, also at the Schultz residence, Erin and Katie will be supplying card-making materials to make thank you cards for the Lisbon-Mt Vernon EMS, Marion Fire Dept, and Mercy Hospice workers. Despite the cold weather, this event will be full of fun and fellowship.
At the following meeting on Wed, Feb 23, we will gather at Susan's new location for Central Furniture Rescue and be put to work doing whatever needs to be done to help her and the CFR volunteers!
I hope you find the month of February fulfilling and inspires you to do more good work in the world.
We lost a good Rotarian recently with the passing of Bill Rider of rural Mount Vernon. Bill had been a member of the MVL Rotary Club for a number of years, starting in the 1990s.
