We had our annual visit from our District Governor, Jeff Hassman, at our first meeting in November. Hassman, from Cedar Falls, noted that the district includes roughly 50 clubs in northern Iowa. He encouraged members to embrace the Rotary theme for this year, which is Serve to Change Lives. Hassman shared his experiences in the Rotary Youth Exchange Program, as a member of a host family during his childhood, as a exchange student himself and as a Rotarian host. He encouraged clubs to identify and send students through the exchange program, RYLA (leadership development) and Young RYLA. In addition, he invited members to attend the All-Iowa Rotary Conference, which will be held in Coralville on April 22 & 23, and the International Conference which will be held in Houston on June 12-16. This will be the first time in 75 years that "all of Iowa" has gotten together for a state-wide conference. It will be an exciting and fun event!

Members of our club continue to collect cans and bottles from organizations around the area. Proceeds are deposited into our account to use toward projects.
There are a few spots left to help pick-up cans and bottles from Pedaler's Fork during December. Available dates and sign-up can be found here: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/20f0d4aadaa2eabfb6-pick1
Reach out to Mariah with questions.

Katie and Mariah volunteered with VenuWorks at the Hairball concert at the ImOn Ice Arena in Cedar Rapids. All proceeds will be donated to our club to help pay for projects.
They are both massive Prince fans...Hairball's rendition of "Let's Go Crazy" (Katie's favorite Prince song) and "Darling Nicki" (Mariah's favorite Prince song) was the icing on the cake for a great night!
