Why did you join Rotary? I wanted an organization where I could network with and come alongside other like-minded philanthropic leaders in our community. I wanted to be part of an organization that was making an impact in our communities for good.
What do you like most about Rotary? The people I have met and the services I have been able to participate in. I was also honored to attend the up and coming leadership conference a few years ago for Rotarians and learned so much - the speakers were phenomenal and met so many fantastic people from all over the world.
Career: I am a veteran marketer with over two decades of experience. I am the owner and operator of a small advertising agency and the Professor of Business and Marketing, an academic advisor, and the marketing curriculum director at Mount Mercy University.
Hobbies: Photography, Kayaking, Standup Body Board, Jeeping, Hiking, Anything with my Standard Poodle, Attending Dancing and Live Music Concerts & Festivals, Foodie
More About Me: I am a mom of three boys. I have 2 grandsons and 2 godsons. Other than my poodle I am often the only girl in the room. My college boys often bring a few friends home for the holidays. This past Thanksgiving I had 15 people age 4-52. All young men & me. My standard poodle Stella Bear and I are doing training to become a therapy dog duo. I am hoping to have her in my classroom, but also visit hospitals and schools. Ironically I am super allergic to dogs and my best friend from high school went all the way to Nebraska to get her for me as a wee pup when my husband of 24 years asked for a divorce. She just knew I needed her and she was right. I am learning so much from her. She has made my empty nest full of love and joy.
