We are an active club! Read more about some of our recent events and service projects.
A big thank you to the Lisbon-Mount Vernon Ambulance Service for their partnership in making a free community CPR class possible for local residents! Check out this article that appeared on the front page of the Mount Vernon-Lisbon Sun.

Little Free Pantries
John, Nick, and Rebecca (RYE outbound student) started building the Little Free Pantries. This project will provide scattered-site, free-to-everyone access to limited food options on an as-needed basis. The Little Free Food Pantry movement is an offshoot of the Little Free Library movement that has been a massive impact on the availability of reading materials for communities and individuals. This project will allow for the giving and taking of nonperishable food items to be housed and maintained by either homeowners, a sponsoring group, or the Linn County Rotary Club – this duty being dependent on the individual agreements to house the pantry. The Linn County Rotary Club will purchase, assemble, and place the pantries at two sites to begin, expanding as need and locations are identified.

CPR Class in Marion
Thank you to all who attended our first free community CPR training with the Marion Fire Department. Those who participated got some great life-saving information, had an opportunity to tour the new fire station on Irish Drive and even enjoyed some snacks provided by Hills Bank. The trainers were wonderful and we look forward to hosting this event annually going forward!
Check out this news clip from a few weekends ago. Special thanks to guest speaker Mike Martin for sharing how CPR saved his life.

Service Project: Central Furniture Rescue
Central Furniture Rescue recently moved and we helped assemble shelving in their new space! Susan Johnston, President and Executive Director of CFR, told us that her regular volunteers were going to be so thrilled that they can organize and fill the shelves with donations.
