Why did you join Rotary? To connect with other like-minded people in our community for the purpose of serving others and making a positive difference in the world.
What do you like most about Rotary? Our motto: Service Above Self
Career: Elected official - Current Linn County Auditor & Commissioner of Elections since February of 2007. Various management roles in technology industry (telecommunications, project management, information technology) while working for Teleconnect, TelecomUSA, MCI, Siemens, and Four Oaks of Iowa. Three years active duty in US Army primarily as a military policeman and six additional years serving in various reserves of the Armed Forces.
Hobbies: Making family memories, serving my church, engaging conversations, reading, and pickleball.
More About Me: I recently enrolled in a graduate course at the University of Minnesota. I have always promoted education as a life-long commitment so hopefully someone - at work, in my family, or an acquaintance - will follow my example or follow their dreams. At the age of 18, I served as a deputy sheriff in Buchanan County (Independence, IA) for about 6 months. Later worked as the town marshal in Winthrop, Jesup, and Fairbank; totaling, about 5 years in law enforcement.
