We heard about Boy Scouts of America and we also won an award at the District Conference!

We learned that Boy Scouts was founded by Sir Badon Powell in England in 1907. Just 3 years later, in the era of telegraphs and shipping mail via carrier across the ocean, scouts was founded in America. Troop 240 of Mt Vernon was founded in 1923 and has been active ever since. Even though scouts is most well-known for its outdoor programs, it is, in fact, a leadership program. In Denny’s 31 years with the Boy Scouts, he has trained hundreds of young men to become Eagle Scouts, the highest achievement or rank attainable in the program.Rotary Club Excellence Award
