Speaker: Mental Health Talk Part 2

In Part II, Wendy Stokesbary, LMHC will explain the importance of understanding the impact of trauma on yourself, your loved ones, and your community.  Trauma will affect everyone at some time in their life, whether it is by direct experience or witnessing life threatening situations that are beyond our capacity to cope. In addition to expanding your knowledge,  you will also practice calming techniques that can be used to cope with emotionally threatening situations.

Wendy has more than 30 years of experience in the counseling field. She utilizes evidence-based therapies, combined with a compassionate and down-to-earth energy. Wendy adapts the sciences of neurology, psychology, and wellness to develop effective interventions for her clients. She specializes in serving children and caretakers who have experienced trauma and adversity, and she provides trauma informed care to all clients. Wendy is also a longtime advocate for educating the world about the ways we can build healthy children and families in order to prevent and mitigate abuse and neglect. In her free time, Wendy can often be found playing outside, listening to music, or practicing yoga.
