It's hard to believe that it's already September! We have lots of wonderful events planned for the fall and hope you can join us at club meetings, socials, and service events.
In about a week, I will be heading down to Houston for the Rotary Zone Institute 2021. Katie Wilford and John Schultz will also be in attendance. We will participate in in-depth trainings, inspiring speakers, fresh entertainment, fellowship, and an exploration of Houston's best attractions before the international convention (in 2022).
Our District Grant has been approved to convert a 6'x12' cargo trailer into a portable recycling collection location. It will be wrapped with graphics promoting Rotary. Our club will empty the trailer on a regular basis as part of its service and deliver materials to a local recycling facility. The funds gathered will be used to promote other projects through the club while protecting the environment and enhancing the beauty in our community at the same time!
To fundraise for this project, we will continue to collect cans and bottles - every cent counts! We also have been given the opportunity to work VenuWorks events at the Paramount Theatre and the Alliant Energy Powerhouse. In wages and credit card tips alone, we earned $800 for the club in just two shows (plus cash tips)! Sign-up here for preliminary events in October. (Dates are subject to change.)
Other than cans, bottles, and VenuWorks, if you have a fundraising idea, you will help plan and lead that project. Remember, we are all here to help!
Yours In Rotary,
Michelle
