Thank you to everyone who attended the informational event for Youth Exchange last week Saturday. I want to specially thank Susan for putting it all together!! I also want to thank, John Schultz, Robert Petrie, Erin & Mark Krob, Ann Gruber-Miller, and our students Juan and Pauline for presenting at the event. It was well presented and put together which gave everyone a full understanding about all the aspects of the exchange program. Cheers to everyone who helped make this event possible!! Thursday we will hear from the Be SMART program about gun safety. Secure all guns in your home and vehicles Model responsible behavior around guns Ask about the presence of unsecured guns in other homes Recognize the risks of teen suicide Tell your peers to be SMART Next week enjoy your time away with family and friends. No meeting on Thanksgiving!! Don't forget about the event at the Downtown Rotary Club in Cedar Rapids on Monday, November 26th. They have a special presentation at their normal meeting time for Foundation month. They have invited all the area clubs to join them. Their meeting takes place at the Double Tree in Cedar Rapids at noon. Please arrive early to give enough time to go through the lunch line. Lunch is $12 for salad bar and $17 for full meal. Finally, we will not have a regular meeting on November 29th as it is our 5th Thursday of the month. I will send out a survey soon with details on program selection for that event. |
