Last Week:
Thanks to everyone who participated last week in our club community projects. I think everyone involved appeared to have a fantastic time and we met with so many people from the community. The Mini Olympics were a huge hit with the community and despite a weather scare earlier in the day we had picture perfect temps and sky! In total we had about 50 participants in this years Olympics!
We also participated in the Heritage Days uptown games. The Hi Hit game ended up being a huge "hit" and the club raised several hundred dollars and visited with nearly as many community members. Thanks to all that came out and worked the event and took a swing at working with the community!
This Week:
This weeks meeting will be back at Cornell at our normal 11:45AM meeting time at the Russell Conference Room. Please call in to Zamora's to order your lunch in advance, before 11:00AM, at 319-895-4499. A special thanks to Katie Wilson who will be leading this weeks meeting. She will be leading the club in discussion about community service projects. If you have not done so yet please take a moment to fill out the survey she sent to us. If you need the link again please let Katie know at: Katie Wilson kwilson@cornellcollege.edu Thanks, Katie!
Other News:
We are still looking for some programs for July 28th and August 4th. If you have suggestion of something you would like to hear about please let me know at johnmschultz@gmail.com. Bill Rider has been kind enough to offer a club summer picnic again this year. The date will come soon but the plan is to hold this after the Cornell year starts so we can involve the newly formed Rotaract club. We are also working on dates for the Tri City meeting in October. I have been in contact with the Anamosa and Monticello club presidents and more details will come shortly.
